What is happening where you are located in terms of measures to stop spread of virus?
Here in Mexico and especially the state of Jalisco where Lakeside Chapala is and Puerto Vallarta are, we are on a mandated lockdown. We cannot go out for leisure only essential business such as groceries, pharmacies, dr. visits, etc. Mandatory use of masks everywhere outside your home is in effect with warnings, fines or even jail time to enforce compliance.
The Lakeside area is truly enforcing the measures to prevent spread. All restaurants are closed except for taking out or delivery. Non-essential stores are closed. You cannot enter our area at all unless you live here and prove it or have an essential business, food delivery, FedEx so forth. There are 3 entrances to this area and all are protected by sanitary checks we will call them or police blockades.
Puerto Vallarta is having similar rules all resorts closed etc., they are the same state. This pretty much applies to all of Mexico almost all together with Jalisco being the absolute first state to start.
It is hard but it has made a difference, we are told. At present we have no confirmed cases of Covid 19 as yet. The law is until May 30th with a revision to low numbered places on May 17th, so we may have some restrictions lifted then.
Mexico city is hit hard, as is Tijuana, Baja and a few other states but nothing like the USA as yet anyway.
It is hard but a necessity.
I hear from my kids and Husband how it is in Massachusetts, so curious, how it is elsewhere.
