Courtyard Montreal Downtown or Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain??

Our son and girlfriend are going to Montreal for a special long weekend soon.

I'm looking for feedback on the Courtyard Montreal Downtown versus the Marriott MarriottChateau Champlain. The Downtown is $115 per night, the Chateau $180.

I'd rather spend less, but it's not worth it if there's something kind of objectionable about the Downtown.

Any feedback on these or other Montreal hotel suggestions?
