Trouble with air NY-HI-SFO

    Trouble with air NY-HI-SFO

    I am still playing with our summer trip, finally decided it'd be great to stop and do wine country for a few days on way back to New York from Hawaii.

    I've even got a unit at Worldmark Sonoma on hold, thanks to Ken's post this morning.

    But my NY/Kona returning Lihue/NY fare is $799, and if I do NY/Koa, Lihue/SFO it's $1032. And that doesn't even cover the SFO/NY leg, which I figured I'd do on Jetblue later.

    Is there another airport I should use for wine country? LAX is just too far for us to drive.

    Any ideas would be appreciated. Dates are 7/22 NY to Koa, 8/5 Lihue to ?

    If you can somehow use FF miles that is the way to go. That is how I did my Stop over in SF when we went to Hawaii.

        Check SFO, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento. Don't know if you'll find something that will work.

        I was going to say that of course you would let me know if you stop in California, then I remembered that we'll be on the Big Island just about the time you'll be coming back through here.

          I will check Sacramento, I checked the others already. We will be in North Lake Tahoe starting 3/31, but I fear that is too far for you. I would sure love some company up there while my boys are on the slopes.....

            Well, considering I don't "do" snow..............

            Tahoe is about 4 hours from me, and that's with good weather and no traffic.

              I don't either, but for some reason we've got three ski trips planned so far this coming season, and the boys have asked me to work on a few days after xmas too
