Southwest accepting reservations through May 10th.

Trying to get flights from St. Louis to Phoenix and the only ones left were $230 per seats one way for the days we wanted to fly. So booked on AA instead.


Did get some good prices out of Nashville for the other part of the group.

Unfortunately I didn't see this until today. The internet fares (if they ever existed) for Las Vegas to Oakland on Sunday, March 11 were already gone. Oh well, at least I got the internet fares for the flights to Las Vegas.

Do you guys you Southwest Ding fare? If not, download it and it will normally present you with 2 deals a day. You can select the cities you are interested in. Normally, the Ding fares are 10-60 days out.

I thought I had downloaded Ding, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Dumb question, but when Ding is downloaded, where do you get the fares presented to you? The email associated with your account?

When you down load it, it should put a little icon in your bottom tool bar. When there a fare for you to look at, it "dings". You click on the icon and then on the message as to the deadline to book, and it opens the web page where the fares are listed.

Luanne--Ding doesn't work well for me, either. I usually have a little "exclamation point" where the ding logo sits in my tray that says "a communication error has occurred." Doesn't seem to matter if I'm browsing with IE or Firefox. If I click on the exclamation point I still get the pop-up showing the current special, but I have to remember to click to see it, and never get an actual ding.

I had been checking the website every single day waiting for the schedule to expand--and of course, I was away from home all day on the 16th when it actually happened lol. I missed the announcement but still did manage to get internet special rates on our return flight, but not on the outgoing flight.
