Was on a mileage run to LAS last month and the East Coast was fogged out on my red eye return. Ended up in PIT, then finally got into IAD instead of DCA, home 7hrs late.

Received an apologetic letter today from USAir Customer Relations with a $75 travel voucher. I hadn't complained or anything, heck, they don't control the fog.

    I was suprised!

I have had my share with US air. They seem to be good at CS but not IMO the Best. I felt that they could have done more and to get through to them is a nightmare. The last time they broke a new Kenneth Cole suitcase. Just filing the claim at the airport was not pleasurable. I never bother to even follow through with the claim as the rep did what she had to do to discourage me.

Why'd you have Kenneth's suitcase anyway?

The $75 USAir Voucher is good on purchase from USAir. This may not be enough to compete with webfares. In addition you are limited to the routes for USAir.

It is a good gesture from USAir, but it is more a marketing ploy to get you to travel more on their airlines

If it were cash or cash equivalent, that would have been sweet.

NW tends to do the same thing with miles rather than vouchers. If you are an elite ff member they give you more miles than a regular member. I remember one time we had a delay at Detroit on a flight to Amserdam, causing my wife and I to misconnect with our flight to Vienna. Since they had to put us on a different plane anyway, and we did not really have to be in Vienna for another day or two, we asked to do a stopover in Amersterdam, which they allowed. We had also been given a set of vouchers on the plane, including one for 500 ff miles, a future fare discount, and telephone usage. When we got home, we both got letters of apology from NW, with 5,000 miles for her and 8,000 for me.

Hey....It's better than doing nothing at all, which could have been the case.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
