I just got a call from Delta, telling me my LGA/SLC flight on February 17th is oversold and offering us $200 per ticket to get rerouted. I said no, but I have never heard of calling so far ahead with offers! I wonder what they'll be offering at the airport...

Wouldn't matter, it would be a connecting flight and last year we had friends who never made it to Park City b/c of a problem with their connection in Dallas.
If they go up to $400 I will have to think about it, but I'll bet I can get the same deal coming home, when it will be ok with me

What are they offering for the re route? That might be what would decide me.

Nothing great. Either an am flight through Cincinnati with tight transfer time(and Cinti can be iffy weatherwise), or an afternoon flight through DC (Dulles) that d/n get into SLC until 7 pm, if all goes well. Probably should've taken that one... If our flight is on time (and gets off the ground, that is), we get in before 11 am and the kids can snowboard in the afternoon. Hopefully I won't be kicking myself...

eta: ok, I am kicking myself. Oh well, hopefully our flight will go smoothly... and maybe we'll get bumped on the way home (we did last year, so this year's flights are free anyway).

I would take it if it they were to go up another $100 for each ticket given you $400X4=$1600 or take the $300 PP if it includes a first class reroute.

Luanne, they were ticket vouchers, but I would definitely use them. Our flight this year to SLC is using the vouchers we got last year for rerouting our return.

Frank, I'd have taken it on the exact terms you stated, without hesitation. The offer fell short enough that I had to think about it. And DS just got home, he agreed he'd be upset at losing the afternoon on the mountain. But then again, he doesn't pay for the airfare, either....
