  • Visiting Ireland over Easter

We are considering going to Ireland over the Easter vacation week. Our daughter will be an exchange student, and she will be off for Good Friday through Monday. If we tour with her on those days, will we have trouble with some of the sighseeing attractions being closed due to the Easter holiday? She will be in school in Limerick. I thought we would consider day trips from there, since she will go to Doublin with her friends, and my husband and I can do Dublin on our own. Any suggestions about where we should go for those 4 days with our daughter, considering the holiday as well?

Since it is a VERY catholic country I would be afraid that some things would be closed and even transportation/restaurants operations, etc. would be curtailed. It wouldn't stop me from visiting at that time - just make your plans accordingly.

And I am assuming DD's a college exchange student so she could certainly miss some class time to spend time with you....
    Enjoy your trip!
