  • Which airport to fly into to get to Laguna Beach?

We usually fly into the John Wayne airport. However, I'm trying to use FareCompare and Orbitz and it lists:

    Bob Hope (BUR)
    Long Beach Municipal
    Ontario
    John Wayne.

Which is closest or is there a big difference. We'd be renting a vehicle as well so availability of that would also play a factor of where we fly into.

Burbank way too far away. You would be better off at LAX before BUR.

SNA is the closest and a great airport but usually a bit more expensive.

Long Beach is a great airport and close enough if the price difference is worth it.

Ontario may also be worth it if the price difference is substantial.

Ontario is also a long ways from Laguna Beach. John Wayne in Orange County is your best bet depending on price. We have flown in and out of all the airports except for Long Beach. Ontario is our usual airport because it is the closest to where we live and is very easy to get in and out of.

I like John Wayne and Long Beach but our best non-stop prices are usually for LAX.

Ontario I only have used for Palm Springs.

Try to time your flight to be out of the area before 1PM if price dictates LAX and you will be in Laguna within an hour.

My airport of choice for that area would be John Wayne (SNA).

Couldn't agree more. SNA and Long beach are great and always choose them if the price is close. If not, LAX is fine as long as you avoid the commute hours.

In my searching, I notice there is a $25 difference between SNA and Long Beach with Long Beach being lower. I'm familiar SNA and LAX but wasn't with Long Beach so wasn't sure if the savings was worth it. Sounds like it may not be. Is it the same amout of driving time from Long Beach vs. SNA?

SNA is closer. If you want to save the $25 then just keep in mind that if you hit traffic it won't be worth it. Unless I was buying more than 4 tickets I would still use SNA.

I do not think that $25 is enough of a difference to determine which airport to use. You should also consider the flight schedules. If the schedules are not an issue then SNA would be a better choice because it is closer to Laguna.

SNA works for me. We're familiar with it. Just wasn't sure if we were missing out on something else
