Also available on the biddingfortravel.com website is lots of pointers for getting great hotels for cheap through priceline. If you do this make sure you read on permutations which is essentially free rebids. It sure does pay to do research. I Stayed at the Yankee trader on Ft Lauderdale beach. The rack rate was $382 per night......I got it for $120. I have also stayed at the Hyatt Regency of Dearborn in Michigan. Its a 4* very nice hotel.. Best one I have stayed at through priceline. The rack rate was $220 per night.....I got it for $60 per night. So needless to say I dont stay at Super 8 Motels, or motel 6's etc..... when I can spend the same amount of money and stay at Marriots, Sheratons, Hyatts etc....

We just returned from Pto Vallarta. Three days before we left we decided to rent a car.

The on-line travel service at Club Sunterra got us a compact for $84 for the entire week from Thrifty. Third party liability added $7 per day. Even with the TPL, it was significantly better than any offer at any other site. (The best I could get from any place else was about $225 at Avis, including TPL.) Even other sites rates for Thrifty were much higher.

When we arrived at the car rental counter, the Thrifty agent was amazed at the rate. While we were waiting for our car, I watched renting identical models to other people for ~$250 per week before liability.
