Other than Priceline I don't use any other pre-paid car reservations. My only other experience has been directly with the rental company. I thought the question was how did Priceline handle it if your flight was delayed or cancelled. I still think if you arrive a little late, no problem. If you come in earlier, or return the car later than specified, you might have an issue. Do you know how the other pre-paids handle this? I don't.

Wanted to add...I've used PL for hotel reservations and have done REALLY well with it. I always do the name-your-own-price thing.

And my point was that just because the reservation is PL or HW, the car rental companies don't treat it any differently than they do any other reservation. If anything, because it's prepaid you should have more assurance of having a car available if your flight is delayed.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

        “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Okay, all that makes sense. But, lets say that a couple of days before your trip your flights get changed and now you're going to be a few hours earlier than originally planned. Or if the flight home got changed to a later time and I now needed the car for a few hours longer. If I'd made my reservation through the car rental company I could go online, or call, and change the flight information (it might even be a different flight number now) and change the time I need the car. What would happen with a pre-paid reservation? I was under the impression that NO changes could be made to anything made through Priceline.

I'm saving $115.00!!!
I've learned when it comes to car rentals, ALWAYS sign up for their free membership services. I recently went to San Diego and signed up for the Dollar Membership. I got to the rental car place and bypassed 10 people waiting in the standard line because of my membership. They weren't happy..... I was. Out in 10 minutes while it took them at least 30 more after I left.

I do belong to several car rental membership services. And when I book through them it does save time. However, I was willing to spend a little bit more time in time to save a significant amount of money. For this trip to La Jolla we're saving $115.00. Worth it to me.
