  • Alaska Airlines - good fares to Hawaii

Alaska just announced today that they are starting flights to Hawaii. We're flying with them FF but for fun I plugged in our dates for February, the 1st to the 15th. The fare that came up for Seattle to Honolulu was $367.30 including tax. I believe these might be some introductory fares so they may not last long.

As well, if you have an AS credit card, the $50 companion certificate is valid as well.

Explains why they recently discontinued their partnership with Hawaiian Airlines then...

I love Alaska Air and like to use them as much as I can. If going to Kauai, they will be a no brainer with the only direct flight from Seattle. But, the flight home is a red eye.

They will also be flying 737-800 instead of the 767s that NW and Haiwaiian fly. So for me unless I'm going to Kauai, I'll probably pass.

AS also plans to start direct flights to OGG and KOA from Seattle - when they do we'll be able to bypass HNL entirely except when were flying interisland.

Maybe a FF glitch to try?

There is also info on Flyertalk about a glitch that allows 25K coach FF tickets. Alaska's website is saying you have to call in to book, but when I try the reservation online system, it seems to work. I don't have enough miles to see if it would actually ticket, but it might be worth a try.

We go to Maui fairly often from Seattle. Have been using Hawaiin, but their change fees are very high. What are the change fees on AS - approximate.

It is nice there is more competition to Hawaii since Delta cut back its service.

I saw some good rates from them a couple of days ago out of LAX to HNL it looked to me they were actually on American Airlines flights. American was high But Alaska was like $ 400 The next day some days fares were increased but others had not and this was for late July early August. I was suprised to find these fares on Alaska but I was checking on Kayak.
