Another Passport Problem

My youngest daughter just got back from an International School trip at midnight. She, my wife and friends are leaving today for Williamsburg, so my wife got up early to wash her clothes. Guess what, my daughter's passport was someplace and ended being washed. You can still see the picture, etc., but it is not in good shape. She has 4 years left before it expires, will she need to get a replacement?

Short answer, yes, it won't be accepted by anyone in that condition.
