We got ours last week--about a month.

Of course, now we have no place to go.

DW realized hers had expired in '06 and sent in for renewal August 1. Received August 31. 30 days and was not expedited or anything. It does have the chip. No trip missed.

The State Department announced yesterday that they have cleared the backlog and passport wait times are back to normal - 8 weeks for normal service and 3 weeks for expedited.

We went and got the boys paperwork going right before school started. DH & I have to renew ours. I have been on DH to get a move on, since he's starting an executive MBA program and they do a 10 day trip to Europe in May. I'm doing this as DH likes to wait till the last minute(got his renewed passport 3 days before our honeymoon 13 yrs ago).

I just sent mine in for renewal and paid the expedited fees on 9/5, so I'll let everyone know how long it takes...we have to take an unexpected trip to Singapore and Bangkok in about a month so I hope it's before that!
