Zoom has been operating in Canada and the UK for a few years now and seems to be a solid company. We flew Zoom in 2004; Toronto-Glasgow-Gatwick-Calgary. The service was excellent, on time, with food and comfortable seats.

If you had checked the Links Directory under Website Navigation on TS4MS, you would have found Zoom under Airline links for several weeks. There are also some other low cost trans-Atlantic options in the Links directory.

I don't know if I could pedal that many hours in a row!

That is incredible! I can't even find a fare to Orlando that cheap for my sister from Denver this summer.

            $538.65 Total

Looked at flights from JFK to Gatwick on Sep 20, returning Sep 29, the same dates that we are flying from Nashville (BNA) to Gatwick and return. After fees, fues surcharges, etc., the price was not much less than we gave for BNA to Gatwick & return. Of course, we did our flight selections/payments last winter.

With Gordon Brown doubling the UK's air ticket tax, the UK is not the place in Europe to go on an LCC. Better to use a trans-Atlantic LCC that flies into Germany like Condor or LTU.

Surely that depends on where you want to travel to. If your final destination is the UK is it really worth hours of extra travelling to save a few dollars? For me the answer is almost always No. I would rather pay the extra for a direct flight from A to B than save money but waste precious time by flying via C.
