HHI at Xmas

Our family is thinking about going to Hilton Head Island for Christmas this year. We have never been there and don't know how developed it is.

Any thoughts about visiting at that time of year? businesses completely shut down for the season?

Things to do and places to visit during Christmas season?

Any experiences or comments would be helpful. Thanks.

We spent several days there at Christmas about 8 years ago. Since there are many year round residents both on and off the island, most businesses remain open. The weather can be pleasant, but it can also be cool. People were still playing golf. You can ride bikes on the trails and beaches. You can also go sightseeing in Savannah and Charleston.

If all goes as planned, we will be at Hilton Head from 12/22-29.

I snagged a 2BR Marriott Grande Ocean for 12/22 to 12/29. Perhaps we can meet riverdees!
