Are there any tricks to getting last minute reasonable airfare so that one could use Last Minute availability of resorts on II, RCI and other exchange companies. I can see how you could make those work if you were close enough to drive, but to fly?

People buy there tickets to areas like Hawaii when the fares are low even without making the exchange. It seems that 90% of the time this works out for Hawaii. Book when the fares are low then cross your fingers that it comes in at the end. If not your stuck booking a hotel.

As far as the low fares at the last minute goes. Sing up with email alerts from all the airlines and also sign up with all of the travel search engines. Be sure to update your profile to include your favorite air port to fly out of.
