  • Car Rental advice . Please ?

Hi , i am looking for a car to rent for 1 week from miami Int'l Airport.
I intend to use Thrifty.com and they always offer optional coverage.

My question is . Do i need this ?

Loss Damage Waiver ($22.99 Per Day) > Learn more
Waives your financial responsibility for loss or damage to the vehicle in full or in part subject to the conditions in the rental agreement and the limitations imposed by law.

Also what is the most inexpensive way to rent a car for the week ?

    Thanks in advance.

You might want to check with your insurance company. Sometimes your auto insurance will cover a rental. Also some credit cards will offer coverage, if you wave the rental company's policy. Still you need to find this out ahead of time. Good luck on your vacation!
Thanks to my sister, we own a leg lamp.

You might want to try priceline. Some people have had great success.......

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Check with your credit card issuer. My insurance does not cover me outside of the US and Canada but my credit card does. Just be sure that you use that cc to pay for the rental.

Then yes you do need it. Some rental car companies will require that you take it out or they won't rent to you.

In your case I would not trust what someone at a credit card company says over the phone. I'd want it in writing, I'd want the specific wording indicating world wide coverage and I'd want to carry it with me at all times. It's to easy for someone answering a phone to give you the wrong information.

When we've traveled to Europe, I've always taken out every piece of insurance coverage the car hire will provide. My personal insurance does not cover me in most foriegn countries and countries where you have right hand driven cars seems to be high on their no list.

Last year it paid off when I hit a curb and popped one tire, then got to close to a hedge row and popped another while driving in Ireland. That one incident more than paid for the two times we've driven in Europe and probably for a couple more times to boot.

Yes - check with the credit card issuer and do get it in writing. I downloaded and printed the coverage provided by VISA, so I know exactly what it covers.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

              “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Try Hotwire.com Although you will not know who the rental company is until you book it, the rates are great and I have never been dissapointed.

I will assume that the OP has already made their reservation, but for general information, rental car companies have contract ID codes, coupons, promo codes, etc., that can be used when searching for reservation on the online sites.

Travel forum like flyertalk have extensive threads discussing the codes of the different companies.

Google something specific, like National car rental discount codes, to try to find sources of codes, then insert them in your rental price requests online.
