Received my passport in under 10 days

I did a renewal and followed the instructions on-line and marked "Expedite" on the envelope, but sent it regular first class mail. In less than 10 days ( I think about 8) I had my new passport - the website had said 3-4 weeks so perhaps their backlog is reduced. Just thought I'd let everyone know who needs a new passport.

I also heard that they had put on some extra help to try to get the backlog down. They needed to do something, there were a lot of very upset folks whose vacations were ruined due to the extra processing time it was taking. That and maybe the requests slowing down a bit now.

My DS passport was requested Aug 3rd. Still nothing.

I read in the paper that they have added so many people and worked overtime and they caught up and are now saying it is back to 3 weeks. Thank goodness!! shaggy

You can't believe what you read in the paper, I've been waiting 8 weeks. Or perhaps some passport centers are down to 3 weeks but some are still out 12-14 weeks.

Or they are planting disinformation to take the pressure off, or they randomly process some in 3 weeks to generate good press while the majority take 3 months.

The people who get their passport in 3 weeks are raving all over the place while the majority are silently suffering.

New Passport

My wife received her passport yesterday (19). She had the Post Office do the paperwork on the 6th for a total of 13 days. I went the next day so, let's see when my comes back.
