  • JetBlue will start Non stop service JFK to both St. Maarten and Puerto Plata in Jan.

JetBlue Airways the low-fare, low-cost airline with the most flights to the Caribbean, today announces it will add new service this winter to two more island destinations: St. Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. The award-winning airline will offer one daily nonstop flight between Puerto Plata and New York/JFK effective January 10, 2008, and one daily nonstop flight between St. Maarten and New York/JFK effective January 17, 2008

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

This is good news. Can Someone suggest a TS that I can purchase in St Martin. Or something that trades well in to St.Martin.

          Bill,
There is an overabundance (my opinion) of timeshares in SXM. I own an EOY there at LaVista which is a small, family-run resort. I bought it on ebay for ~$900 + ~200 in closing costs. It's not one of the sought after, but I think it's great. It is a two-part resort, LaVista - the older part where I have a stand alone cottage and LaVista Beach which is the newer, larger one. I'm not getting too excited even though additional options can't hurt and many times helps lower prices. Every time I have checked Jet blues prices from NY to Fort Lauderdale during our annual family vacation during Passover/Easter not only aren't they "the low fare low cost" airline but they have had the highest prices by far over any other airline for the past three years in a row.

You need to be careful with Jet Blue because as they fill up seats they continuously increase their prices as they get closer to capacity. They also have the worst FF program in the industry IMHO since their miles expire within 12 months. As you can see I am not a great advocate of Jet Blue and since they have been in business I have only flown on them twice and both times it was one way since they only had a great price on one way of the trip. Nevertheless I will continue checking Jet blues prices since it always pays to do comparison shopping.

I will say that they have great marketing in NY. We have friends who own condos in Florida and they just assume Jet Blue has the best prices and never check with any other airline.
