The U.S. Department of Homeland Security ruling that allowed U.S. citizens to travel by air in the Western Hemisphere using a State Department proof of passport application ended Sept. 30. Effective Oct. 1, all persons traveling by air between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean must present a passport (or other valid travel document such as Sentri, Nexus, Fast or U.S. Coast Guard document) to enter or return to the U.S. More information at travel.state.gov
