ATA Airlines has announced the elimination of scheduled service flying into and out of New York, LaGuardia Airport effective January 7, 2008. As a result, your ATA flight, Confirmation Code XXXXXX, has been cancelled. ATA will process a refund to the original form of payment. If you paid via a credit card, the credit will appear within two billing cycles. If you paid via check or cash, you will receive a refund check within 14 - 20 days. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patronage.

Mega BUCKS at this late date - I am on hold with the CS people in the Philippines - they code share with Southwest so I am trying to get them to NOT cancel my CHI-CUN and let me fly from Islip to CHI/Midway.

Well......

I BEGGED for the ISP flights but after a long hold, they came back and said 'You seem to be booked using a free ticket' and u know it went downhill from there....but I have the persons name and they SWORE that I was still on the CHI/midway to CUN and CUN to CHI/Midway back on 2/16 and 2/23....And I went on the website and I am still listed as confirmed on that segment - I printed it out

So I jumped over to Southwest and booked 2/15 out and 2/24 return from Islip to Midway....and RAN to Marriott.com and used my Marriott VISA renewal cert Cat 1-5 to book Marriott Midway Cat 4 (would have been $309+tax!) for 2/15 and Fairfield Inn Cat 3 (would have been $269) 15,000 pts.


I am exhausted and VERY annoyed.....I think I need to lay off Cancun for a while.....

Nay - I think what you actually need right now is a good dose of Cancún (with some cerveza, some lime, a hammock ...).

Put that in your mind and maybe the current stresses will seem more manageable.

How can I help ? I have some FF miles you can have.
Contact the AG's office - not that it can undo the cancellation, but you may have some recourse although the airlinle ticket "fine print" is worded to cover their fannies, not ours.
So sorry.

This is more like a dump truck load of ---t. Makes one think about trip insurance for trips like these, but not sure that even trip insurance would pay the current price of a ticket, but might cover the other cost, if one couldn't go. Just a really bad situation. Keep us posted on the final outcome.
