Hi...my GF/Partner was thinking of getting a job there. Her high school friend (who works there for 2 years already) is helping her to get a job there. Anyone been there? How was it?

Another resident that was on our plane going to the Cayman's said, they've passed recent laws that don't allow you stay on the island full time, but I can't remember the particulars.
I would assume your girlfriend knows all this already.Bill

The preceding replies are remarkably under-informed. I won't attempt to explain Cayman's resident requirements or the current "rollback" program. You can find detailed info on the Cayman Government web site. Simply, it's their approach to immigration control. It's a small island that could easily become overpopulated. What is wonderful about Grand Cayman Island is:
- world class scuba diving and snorkeling - mostly at your doorstep.
- pollution and enviromental controls that ensure clear waters and clean beaches
- excellent resturants, bar food, buffets, and fast food in all price ranges.
- extremely low crime rates. No beach peddlers, muggers, pickpockets, scammers.
- gasoline prices are on a par with those throughtout Europe
- grocery stores are well stocked and prices on most items are on a par with US stores.
- and best of all, nice, friendly people from many different parts of the world.
I'll be going there every year until I can't.
