I hope this link works...This is a pictorial of first class seats in different airlines. The only chance I have of sitting in any of these seats is if I only go on 1 vacation/year!!!
No, few different ones..Virgin airlines, Delta, Singapore airlines and either USAir or United.
I flew business class one time on Virgin and we had the recliners, but it more like a movie theater..seats right next to one another. I believe the first class seats were upstairs and became beds similiar to some of the pictures featured in the article.

But for the ultimate in privacy— consider a private suite. Yes that's right. First-class passengers on Jet Airways — an airline that just started flying between the United States and India — can close the door, turn on the "do not disturb" light and truly relax.(Jet Airways)
Mile-high club, anyone?

Actually, it is not as difficult as you think. If you fly to Europe three times a year, you will earn elite status on any US airline. Elite status entitles you to free upgrades, but how often you get them depends on the airline. Since I have been a NW elite, I have only once failed to get a free domestic first class upgrade when I was on a multi-class (not jungle jet) plane. When I was a DL elite, my upgrade percentage was about 30% on domestic routes. DL used to give elites Systemwide Upgrades periodicially that could be used trans-atlantic, although you had to pay about $100 extra to get an upgradable fare. I used the SWU's to make a number of business class flights to Europe and a first class flight to Hawaii. DL has rapidly become less user friendly for ff'ers, and the SWU's no longer exist. Also as an elite, one sometimes is given a complimentary upgrade on trans-Atlantic routes, and I have also gotten several of those, included a complimentary partner upgrade to business class once by Air France on a flight from Washington Dulles to Paris CDG

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
Having flown F and C on UA and SQ (Singapore Airlines), I would opine the service is at least as or more important than the seat.
Most memorable experience was getting upgraded to F (from C) at the gate reader in SYD and having the whole F cabin to myself before Annie brought down the rest of the F pax. The purser took care of my every need Once you've flown premium cabins long-haul, it's hard to go back to economy. But, since I don't have the money to maintain my 1K status, I'll be back to 1P this year and will not get those wonderful free upgrades internationally (on UA).
Linked below is the seat I flew on that trip (this photo is from a 777; I was on a 747 with the same seat number).
There's a front cubicle (on the right) which the seat reclines and fits into, creating a bed. This is the old design seat; UA is now coming out with a completely new F suite...
Several years ago I was headed to Hawaii and I volunteered to get bumped as I knew it was going to be a full plane. Low and behold they needed my seat and right before the plane took off they called me back to let me know I was going to get to fly on the same plane but my seat had been changed to first class. Since then I have practiced the art of bumping and have traveled in first class/business several times. One day I was even bumped twice in one day and recieved $800.00 in travel vouchers.
