  • Gotta love AirTran

Woke up this morning and checked my e-mail. Had a notification that my flights had changed for next month. My layover in ATL was now 4 HOURS instead of 40 minutes.

Shelve that for later today when I'm awake, back from work and back on my normal timezone.

Just got off the phone with a very pleasant agent.

Later flight out <good> 80 minute layover and she changed my flight home from a 3 hour layover to a 45 minute layover.

    All at no additional cost.

I hate when that happens. Glad that it all worked out for in the end. You got lucky.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Most airlines do good when there is a big flight change. I have done great in the past when that happend. Sometimes I even lucked out and was put on a direct flight.

They had better stop that. That sounds like old school customer service. If they don't watch out many people will want to fly them if word gets out.
Shame shame. An airline wanting to make air travel a good thing, how could they.

I'm hoping they don't do the same to our planned flights this coming December. They offer 3 flights, one of which leaves in the morning, has a brief layover and gets us into W. Palm a little after noon. The only other options have relatively long layovers and don't get us into W. Palm until after 9 PM.

Of course, I knew this would be a possibility when I booked with them. I decided it was worth the risk since they fly 717's instead of regional jets, the better times on AA route us through Chicago and Delta has ticked me off one to many times by changing our seating assignments (we always go go from the front of the plane to the back) when only the flight number changes.
