  • Rewards Network

Rewards Network, formerly I-dine, promises to award air miles for dining at participating restaurants or staying at participating hotels. They have no participating restaurants or hotels in Europe and almost none in eastern North Carolina, so I have generally not had much use for them. However, in the I-dine days, when I had some functions I was attending in major cities, I did make use of them. Indeed when I was in Milwaukee, there was a frequent flyer bonus program for using milage partners, and each I-dine counted, so I did multiple I-dines while at that conference, and if I remember correctly 6 out of 8 came throgh which turned out to be exactly the number I needed. A couple of them did not. The process works by registering a credit card to an ff account, and every time you use it at a participating restaurant, you get miles. The system worked most of the time then.

Since I had a conference back in the state in March, I decided to try out the new version, Rewards Network, and registered two new cards, both with airlines I rarely fly but have decent milage balances so need to maintain activity, and one of those had a 250 mile bonus per dine going. Because many meals were included at the conference, I used in twice for the ff program with the bonus and once for the other program. It is now June and none of these miles have come through.

It is not enough miles to hassle with trying to get credit, but it is enough of an aggravation for me to hang it up on Rewards Network. I would have eaten elsewhere except for the miles. Rewards Network can get stuffed as far as I am concerned.

Steve save your statment and fax it to them along with your FF #. I had the same problem but mine problem turned out to be that I had my Amex # change and I had not updated it.
