  • Use a debit or a prepaid Visa card in Australia?

My DD will soon be traveling to Australia with a group of students. They recommend using either debit card or a prepaid Visa. What are the pros and cons of each one or is their a better option. Which card will get a better exchange rate of fees?

Have no idea why they recommend what they do. Of the two, I guess a prepaid would be best as it limits any potential $ loss if the card is stolen or lost. Might be students have a low credit limit?

Me, never had either and always use a credit card.

I assume since the cards are all issued by the same company, exchange rates are the same.

    Cheers

A debit card is a bad idea, as the fees are high for wd, unless she'll wd only once for cash.

A credit card makes more sense, for regular purchases as it's cheaper.
