  • Express Jet Airlines!

Had a e-mail sent to me July 15th stating they were closing their passenger program on Sept 2,2008 to give their customers a chance to use them.

I was hoping it was just the Frequent Flyers Program because in all the years we have never used our points for any airlines.

I called this morning to their Houston office and asked about the e-mail.

The lady was so nice and offered to help with my points or anything else we needed.

She said yes as of Sept 2 they were closing their passenger business and going into freight and charter business only!

She said that when fuel cost and everything gets cleared up they might return to the passenger business.

This is a small airline that we used to fly from Sacramento to Colorado Springs couple times and the cost, service and on time was great.

Even though this was small planes we would have flown anywhere with them!

This was a class act letting us know in advance and not other airlines and just close in the middle of the night.

    Delta connections.

This airlines does a lot of small short run regional conections for Delta I think. What affect would this have on Delta or some destinations that are only served by these small airlines?

They go to San Diego and Sacramento from Bakersfield. They have been an asset from our community that we are losing. I hope the energy situation straightens out. Thanks Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the liberals for your anti American policies.

        ah, that explains why

our onward flight from EWR to BTV this year is with a different airline!

for the past few years we've flown to our Smuggs ski trip with Continental and the onward flight to BTV has always been with Expressjet. We've always enjoyed our short flights with them - as much as you can enjoy any flight after 24 hrs+ of travelling! We especially appreciate the cabin crew who are always helpful and tolerant of the demands made by our tired and grumpy kids. They do seem to specialise in post-retirement-age cabin crew though, maybe thats the difference!

One year my son (then 6) waved at the pilots through the open cockpit door as we boarded. They beckoned him into the cockpit, stood him between them and chatted to him for ages about the instruments and the route we were going to take. They then let him press the button to switch the plane to internal from external power and the aircon and lights all came on. Needless to say, my aviation-crazy son was totally made up about the whole experience!

lets hope the new airline are half as good!
