A rockslide has closed the highway from Vancouver to Whistler. While initial estimates said that the highway should be reopened tomorrow, Thursday, tonight they're saying Monday. "Room-sized" rocks are on the highway.
It may open for at least alternating traffic sooner than that but be warned. There is an alternate route up hill and down dale - I'm not even sure exactly where through the back country you'd have to wind, but it would add significantly to what is normally a reasonably easy drive from Vancouver to Whistler.
