  • Airfare from Milwaukee to Key West

I haven't purchase an airfare ticket in years and I am not sure where to start. This is a last minute decision, made by my son, to fly instead of driving. He will be leaving Sept. 27th and returning Oct 4th . Any Ideas where to start to get the cheapest fare?

    Thanks,
    Mike

If cost is a factor, a cheaper option would be to fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale and drive the 5 hours to Key West. Maybe not a super great idea at that time of the year though...

They decided to take your advise and fly to Fort Lauderdale and drive from there. The cost was $387.00 which is not bad at all I didn't think.

Depart: 06:20 AM, Chicago, IL (ORD)
Arrive: 10:15 AM, Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL)

Depart: 04:50 PM, Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
Arrive: 07:05 PM, Chicago, IL (ORD)

I thought the car rental was a little high. I don't know what size car they got but it was $167.00 for the week.

          Thanks,
          Mike

Don't know what size car they got, but that price isn't unrealistic for FLL especially if it includes the taxes. Normally, taxes add about 50% to the base price at FLL.

Cool...it's really the small plane that gets you from somewhere in FLA to Key West that adds so much to the cost of getting there. When we booked, flights to FLL were $99 roundtrip (remember those days!) and the total was nearly $400 per person to get to Key West thru FLL.
