the traffic in Dallas has gotten worse in the last 10 years. it now takes me 45-60 minutes each way to work. I also spend another 20 hours a week driving around making sales calls.

Both my wife and I are retired now, but when we worked, I drove 16 miles to my job and my wife drove 4 miles.

About 20 feet, give or take.

I am 12 miles from my office, and I car pool with two others. My wife's office is about 6 miles from home.

About 90 km each way. Only I rarely drive since the company supplies transportation. I catch the bus across the street from my house at about 6:10 A.M and arrive at work about 7:15 A.M. Buses leave at 7:40 P.M. and I get home about 8:40 P.M. The good part is they pay us $22 per day to ride the bus!

Since you write that you travel 90 km each way, you are not from the USA. Besides, mainland Europe, where else do they use km(s) instead of miles?

I live out in the area just beyond the suburbs, and go to work 12 miles beyond even that. So 18 minutes each way with almost no traffic. YEA!!

I drive 10.5 miles one way to work and hubby drives 8 miles one way. About 1.75 years ago, we were both driving to work 40 miles one way. We moved just into before the price of gas started getting crazy expensive.

takes me about 15 minutes, in the rush hour, including dropping two kids off at two seperate schools. would love to walk to work, but I generally need the car after work to pick the kids up and take them to all thier various activities - sometimes I feel more like a taxi service!

by the way, petrol (sorry, gas) costs over £1 (almost $2) per litre here so i'm glad I don't have to travel far.
