Ever had a problem with Airline ticket?

We will be flying to Europe next spring. We'll roundtrip out of Paris, but we'll also need to fly from Venice to paris.

To fly from Venice to paris it will cost about $150 if I buy a roundtrip and $1200 if I buy a one way. So I'm buying a round trip ( and not using the return to venice). And I'll be flying the same airline on the roundtrip from the US as my round trip from venice.


My question is if I plan the return trip from paris to venice for a week after we fly back home to the US. will the airline be able to figure out that we will not be using the return trip to Venice and will it cause me any problems?

BillDSBH, they will not be able to figure it out until you don't show for the final flight there are lots of airlines that you could also be on to get back to Paris, etc. Once you miss the flight, they could, possibly, go back and charge you for the one way, probability is small, it's all in the fine print contract of carriage.

I did this one time. Felt bad, so called and cancelled the return trip, stating that my plans had changed. Airline didn't give me any problems.
