  • Where to stay for 1 night between the Umbrella Beach Resort and Orlando?

We are checking out of the Umbrella Beach Resort on Nov 29 and our flight home leaves Orlando Nov 30 at 8.00pm. I want to book a hotel on Priceline and I was thinking a night in either Tampa or Sarasota would be nice. Which areas would be best to bid on? Any other suggestions? I don't want to stay in Orlando. Thanks.

Here's what we did a few years ago:

Call sun city Center and ask to see the place. They will put you up for one night in a hotel for a small fee and also give you a round of golf and lunch. and a tour of the place! It is conveniently located between Tampa and orlando, just a little south.

We have to do that almost every FL trip.

From experience I can tell you your best bet is to Priceline or Hotwire the Orlando area. There will be beaucoup availability.

The best zones for value are Airport West, Universal, and International Drive. Figure on a clean place, 3-star, for $30-35, plus fees. Avoid the Kissimmee/192 Zone.

If it was us, I would have a tee time at Remington noonish on the 29th, and maybe another one the 30th.

With a couple meals at Shells.

Where is Remington? We are also considering going to Busch Gardens so would want to stay in Tampa. I understand that the area around there is not the best so which area would be the best to bid on?

Remington Golf Club is in Kissimmee. All you can eat, all you can hit and all you can play, all day, for one fee.

The best zones in the Tampa area are the beaches, from Clearwater Beach on down, Airport/Westshore, and Brandon. We got a very nice Hilton Garden Inn on Priceline . . . at the first exit south of 4 on 75. Brandon's a couple more exit and nice.

We have something near the St. Pete/Clearwater airport for our first night in January, because that's where we fly into.
