Xmas Travel JFK

I try to avoid peak season travel but find myself booked to fly out of JFK on Christmas Eve. (It just happened, don't know how )

Anyone ever fly out on Christmas Eve and just how wonderful an experience should I look forward too?

It can be bad but it also depends on what terminal you fly out of. If there is snnow or super cold temps. You better bring a lot of coffe as you may be sitting there for a while.

We are flying Delta, and around noon time, which likely just adds salt to the wound. Hey, maybe Delta will go on strike and I will not have to worry about the crowds! The things we do for love.
