Beware Sixt Car Rental
Sixt car rental is one of the largest car rental organizations in Europe, but watch out if you use them. We just rented a car from them at an airport that officially serves Germany as well as France. Although snow was predicted, and driving a car without snow-rated tires is illegal in Germany when snow is on the ground, they rented us a car with summer tires, admitted knowing that snow was predicted and that the car had summer tires, then refused to take any corrective action. We could not use the car for most of the week. I posted a fuller version of the details at TUG. I plan to avoid this company in the future and file a claim with my credit card.
