        Aruba flights - July

        Thanks for the alert.
We are planning our family trip to MSU for July 4 and noticed the flights to Aruba are pretty expensive for this period, about $350. one-way flights. Looks like the highest rates are from July 2-6. Could cost $2,400 for round trip for 4.
Any thoughts, comments, on the higher fees and if it is likely due to high demand holiday period? Would it be better to wait a bit longer before locking up a reservation with JetBlue? Other carriers worth looking into for summer flights to Aruba?
        Appreciate your comments.

the flights have been available for almost a month, so any lower priced seats have already sold, especially for the holiday week. A September flight would cost $179 each way.

Have you checked Kayak.com for lower fares? Jetblue isn't always the best value any more.

            Glitter,
Sorry, just got back to TSFM board this afternoon. Thank you for the response.
Besides Expedia, Orbitz, etc. I have not looked in Kayak.com but I will check it out.
I saw comments on FlyerTalk.com regarding these high JBL rates. Others were concerned as well but US airways is not a good alternative. I agree.
Unfortunately, this is what we got for trade from II. My request was for July 1st through 15th or so and we got the holiday weekend check-in at MSU. Good and bad timeframe, I guess. Extra day with July 3 observed but more expensive to fly.
We will probably go with JBL and move departure to Sat. as there is a direct (no connect), losing one day, but saving about $400. in the process.
