  • Airline considering installing pay toilets on aircraft

The Daily Telegraph of London is reported that Ryanair, an LCC that is one of Europe's largest airlines, is considering installing pay toilets on its aircraft. With all of the other junk fees out there on both LCC's and legacy carriers, I have speculated that this may be coming and that if it did the airline to implement it first would be USAir, Delta, or Ryanair, all of whom seem to be on the cutting edge of junk fees.

The link had been posted for that. Think it was reported that it was said 'tongue in cheek'.

Jay Leno said that if you have to pay to use the toilet, it gives new meaning to 'doody (duty) free'.

It is reported on this side of the pond as under serious consideration. Ryanair is also reported to be considering abolishing check-in desks and requiring online check-in.

Not familiar with Ryanair, but if they charge $5 for beer like most airlines, it probably will cut into their beer sales.

Ryanair charges for just about everything as it is. Actually, on intra-Europe service, many legacy airlines offer free beer in coach, and even at least one LCC does so.

Hey- there's always the barf bag! Just take along a lightweight coat to cover up some tissues and you're set!

Everytime the airline is hurting we could expect the two or three hours delay sitting at the gate with air conditioning off waiting for another connecting flight coming in. We did this in Hawaii few years ago and then had four people come on board from that flight.

If that doesn't work don't fall asleep or you may wake up with your fingers setting in a dish of warm water.

Actually, I think the employee that leaked the story that Ryanair was ‘thinking’ of charging for toilet use is a marketing genius!

Look at all the mentions on line, on air and in print they got, and they did not spend a penny.

I bet they never charge anyway.
