Hotwire/Priceline question

What happens if I return a car early on a Hotwire or Priceline rental?
If it is relevant, it would be during week 52, so high demand time.

This is the only relevant quote I could find on their website:
And if you return your car early, you will not receive any refund for unused portions of your reservation. Hotwire Hot Rate rentals are final and cannot be cancelled, refunded, changed, exchanged or transferred.
Which would imply there would be no penalty, agreed?

I've both picked up cars late and returned cars early at Hotwire and Priceline and had no penalties.

We returned a day early once and it was fine. It's probably a good idea to go to the counter or the clerk and explain that you're bringing the car back early.

I suspect you were going to ask why I would plan to return the car early?
If so, here's the explanation. I need a car in Hawaii Dec. 19th to at least the 26th, possibly the 28th, depending on when we decide to change islands.Through normal channels those extra 2 days are prohibitively expensive. Yet with a Hotwire rent, it only raises the expense by approx. $50, which is still a cheaper total than I can find for the 7 day rental through Costco! Hence, it seems to make sense to do the full rental, as a sort of insurance.
I'd be happy to hear alternatives though.

Nope.

I was gonna say don't expect to get any money back if you return it early, like you would not get any money back if you left a Priceline/Hotwire hotel or motel a day early.

I usually finish my vacation with an early flight home. If I can, I return the car the night before, but I have it reserved until the morning I fly out, just in case something happens. I figure it's better to return it early than late.

I've never had an issue returning the car early.
