  • Priceline problem?

I need a car this weekend. Did my research went into Priceline to "Name my own price" and the system is not allowing it?

All I keep getting is the rental section, which is better than the rental car companies' prices but I think I should be able to beat that cost by a third.

Is it me being blonde or is there a problem with their website?

I checked bidding for travel and the airport code is showwing up with winning bids so I don't think that is the issue.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Seems to be working for me.

    1. go to priceline.com
    2. click on tab for "cars"
    3. click on the green "bid now" icon to the right of William Shatner in the box titled "Name your own price".
    4. enter your rental information in the pop-up screen
    5. click on the green "bid now" icon.
    6. enter your bid on the next page
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I'm good as gold all the way to step 6. I click "bid now" and the only thing I get is the rental prices. No option to place a bid.

I have e-mailed them. Supposedly they get back to you within 3 hours...

In the meanwhile can you try this with MSN pick-up 2May drop-off 5May noon and see what happens?

I'm getting the same as you for that combo. I suspect that PL doesn't have any inventory available matching that request.

I also tried some different dates for MSN, and got the same thing.

Hotwire is offering their prepaid rentals, but the rate they are offering for a compact is the same price as Alamo is charging for a standard rental via PL. so no point to use Hotwire.

$15/day is cheaper than anything on Kayak as well, so unless you are one of those people who won't use Alamo under any circs, I would go to the Alamo site and see if they will give you the $15 deal there.

After that the next step is to collect codes and start testing them at various sites, but at $15/day I wouldn't personally be inclined to spend several hours collecting and testing codes.

        ****

As for being as good as gold, Lawren, I'm sure that you're good. Very, very, very good.

I was thinking the same $15/day is fine. Thrifty shows up that way as well. I will check both sites. Thanks for checking this out for me.

PS: and when I'm bad I'm better.

PPS Got it direct from Thrifty at $15/day.
PPPS: Used a BJ's code and Alamo it is instead.. OK I'm done.
