As much as I like Big Cedar and have stayed there twice (and they have elevators) I agree with Sandi it may not be the best choice for OP. If an elderly person is doing the driving and coming in at night after an evening show the roads around the resort coming in are steep and could be scary at times. If this wouldn't bother you..go for it. It's a lovely resort.

Hi,check out big cedar lodge. It is located on table rock lake and it is absolutely amazing. How much are you looking to spend and how many nights ? Maybe I can help you find a reasonable rate

I'll be going with two senior ladies so it should be elderly friendly, ie. not too many stairs and not too noisy. A view of something nice would be great too. Thanks for the help.

Sorry everyone. It looks like I wasn't paying attention to anyones comments because I am on my blackberry writing this and I didn't scroll to the bottom to read the comments regarding big cedar however big cedar wilderness club offers a patio home for rent and its actually very affordable, its on table rock lake, and its only$600 for 4 nights and it is huge!

If you will search Long Creek, or Long Creek Landing, or check out the Bluegreen board, you will find a discussion of the patio homes. They are very nice but because of the Great Economic Speedbump, that project got put on hold awhile back, so there are no common resort amenities at Long Creek . . . and it is a ways to Big Cedar, like 3-5 miles.

Or, like most of the mature Branson visitors . . . get a couple of the 25000 $35 motel rooms.

Sorry but $600 is out of price range for 4 nights when I can get a $250 2 bedroom for the week on last call. Thanks for the offer but I'll stick to last call or use some points for a last minute deal. Especially since everyone on these boards has been showing me how to get a deal for 7500 points and I've 15,000 left for the year.

I guess not, what do you mean? I didn't think I was bragging just repeating the obvious. Last calls are not a secret.

You've heard of "take it with a grain of salt?" Well, JLB is a huge jokester, and is just trying to "get your goat"; he won't ever admit it, but he's truly a nice guy; just loves to "stir things up."

Well I guess I'm too dumb to get his humor yet. I'll have to stick around more and see if I understand him. Actually most things just fly right over my head I admit it. I'll try not to take him too seriously.

Except for calling them Fairham, no joke here . . . We have friends from OY staying at Fairham Mountain Vista this week and we visited them/had dinner in their unit, did a show, plus banana splits yesterday.

Very, very beautiful place, with a water feature out back between the buildings.

Perhaps someone in the Wilson family was aware of the gloating of certain Orange Lake owners OY, so they decided to reward their condescending behavior by making it the Holiday Inn Club Vacation @ Orange Lake, and compensate those who have had to endure them all these years by allowing them to exchange into real Disney through RCI, not just the smell of Disney wafting next door.

Well if they are watching these forums why don't they fix the complaints?
Not just punish the members for working the system. Why don't you IT people on this site come up with some competition for the big ones that is automated. Seems to me it could be done. Right? Or am I dreaming. Maybe it could be done here.

To paraphrase what I was once told, things said on these forums sometimes do expedite changes that may have ocurred over time. That was in response to a trading power thread a long time ago, one about crappy deposits getting great trades, sorta like the 7500 points trade talk.

Just this morning I mentioned to a prominent member here about a courtesy that used to be extended that no longer is.

We have done more than 100 exchanges, had our share of situations, and in the final analysis I have concluded they we were assisted and improved by people at RCI far more than the opposite.

I have also concluded that perpetual bitching and moaning about them does nothing to improve the service. Personally, I would not go out of my way to help someone bitching and moaning about me all the time.

As I said recently, I believe the classaction suit did the opposite of it's intention, which I assume was to end the practice of renting Spacebank deposits. What it did was to bring it out in the open and to provide a Standard of Practice to legitimize renting Spacebank deposits.

You must be joking. I don't do motels anymore since I discovered timeshares. Unless of course I've got no other recourse.

And wow I can't believe you have more than 100 exchanges. Do you work? Don't know if I could find the time to get that many in. Maybe by the end of my lifetime.
Honestly I can't complain too much about RCI, so far I've been fairly happy with the service considering I deposit late and travel off peak and use last calls like crazy. The only thing that peeves me is the Saturday night thing we've discussed already to death on the other thread.
I don't like the practice of re-selling either because it takes inventory that otherwise would have been available to RCI members and opens it to ebay where we pay more for it. Yes I'm guilty of buying it on ebay because those sellers are faster than me in snapping up the DAE and RCI inventory. I'm seeing it less and less though on ebay.
