After more than 37 years of paying into my pension plan system I am officially retired as of today. As I write this I would normally be heading for my office in Manhattan after a 1 hour and 15 minute commute on the Long Island railroad and the NY subway system. That alone makes retirement all the more enjoyable.

Everyone has been asking me what I plan on doing after retirement and besides more travel anything else that I feel like doing on any given day.

I also have not had any time to take care of my house so the first thing I'm doing is calling contractors for estimates. I need two new bathrooms, new windows in most rooms, Totally gut my family room and remove phony wood paneling with Sheetrock and add new panoramic windows, Replace central air, replace furnace, new flooring in dining room and guest BR, Paint entire house and fix cracks in plaster walls, new dropped ceiling and new lights in basement. Plus anything else the contractors finds that I'm not aware of that needs fixing ( that usually increases the price by about 50%)

OK I just figured it out and after spending all of my pension money on the house I need a new Job

Hey Frank I can now take you up on that lunch invitation you made to me about two years ago and since I won't have any money left when the contractors get through with me you're paying.

Congratulations, Larry. May you have many years of retirement joy. I hope that I won't too far behind you. Here's an idea - we could start a Retired TS4UMS/Tuggers Luncheon Group!

Congratulations. I've got 7 years to go unless the Timeshare developers have their way and are allowed to invest in the FRS (Florida retirement system). Oh, that's another thread.
        Congrats again.
