Beware of Discount Florida Car Rentals

I was rate-shopping on the Internet yesterday.

This morning I had a Confirmed Reservation email from Budget, for $1091.74 , about 3 times what we paid last year. It was booked at 1 AM this morning. Of course, I canceled it.

Discount Florida Car Rentals harvests information under the pretext of shopping for the best deal, which they claim they will notify you of by email. Then they use the information they harvested to confirm a reservation.

Probably a lonely travel agent sitting in a dark room, with nothing to do at 1:00 AM.

A "friend" of mine talked about coming down for the month of November. Her plan was to fly in and borrow one of our cars for a month.
She walked away from her condo in Naples because she refinanced it at the height of the market and it is worth 1/3 of what she owes. She has my garage packed with her things fromthe condo. I think that is plenty, no car.

Sure looks like Florida becoming the scam state! Most times you hear of some scam it seems to be in Florida and not sure why this is happening unless the laws weak!

It appears this person is using companies that don't require prepayment.
