My buddy went on their annual Matzatlan junket, bought something, and then had a helluva time rescinding. Couldn't get help from anyone where he bought, took forever to find an envelope, get it mailed, etc.

    No one would help.

Still no credit on his card.

        Yes to both.

        He prefers learning for himself.

What the deal was is that the salesweasel was selling him 4 weeks where they like to go, a new resort being built, but when he looked at the papers what he really got was just a membership in Trading Places, so he says.

Some here know of my buddy and it was more likely rum.

I would not be caught dead in Mexico for fear of being caught dead in Mexico.

aw, that's too bad. With how much you love Florida, you would find parts of Mx to love more. Cabo has such a hold on me that I'm not sure I'll ever make it to the mainland.

I usetago there, before it became a foreign country , one run by drug lords. I would guess I was there last in 1978. (Oh yeah, there was that night I snuck over to Tijuana in the 80's. Man, was I glad to get back.)

(Oh yeah, then there was that day trip to Ensenada that we got for touring that resort just south of Carlsbad Inn. Thought we wouldn't make it back then, either. Some time in the 90's.)

I've been sunning it for the last 3 days at Temptation (adult) Resort & Spa in Cancun. I have 4 more beautiful days to go. The resort has got 100% occupancy with people from all over the world.
I look at your comments and it reminds me of the old Black sabbath record 'Paranoid' I could get just as dead in parts of New York, Detroit or Toronto as I can in Mexico.

And please remember there wouldn't be all the drug violence in "certain" parts of Mexico if there were no "end users" in the states and Canada.

                      Hey, I resemble that statement.

When I first went in the 70's there were well-armed militia-type cops everywhere, always on alert for overthrows. Local powermongers liked to run things their way, like my neighborhood. We were going to dinner one night and the car running along beside us, my side, didn't like something about our cab, so he just turned his car into us.

But, I know there are areas approaching civility, that the authorities du jour keep the bad folks out of, sorta. Well, not the TS salesweasels.

& I will try to cut back on the drug use.

FWIW, my buddy never sweats the details; he just does stuff and deals with it whenever. He never listens to me, but finds out what I was trying to tell him eventually, too late.

Mexico has always been a foreign country. What planet are you living on? I would much rather go to Mexico than Branson, MO.

Mexico and Canada were both a lot easier to travel into and out of for US citizens when I was younger; I visited both of them for a few days without a passport. Don't think you can get away with that anymore. So in that sense they're a lot more foreign now.

                            Duh!

Earth. I even use that as a location in one of my craigslist ads.

                            http://springfield.craigslist.org/spo/1611062701.html

So much for my use of smilies, and there's no reason to make this personal. Some folks just don't take too well to joking around, I guess, which this entire thread is intended to be.

FWIW, I don't go to Branson any more than I have to. (Or California for that matter. )

I will admit that as far as feeling safe, Mexico rivals Orlando.

Is that enough smilies so everyone understands I'm just having fun with my buddy's folly?

                              Hmmmmm?!

I'm amazed at how things work sometimes.

Just one of those strange coincidences, that while someone was dissing Branson in favor of Mexico on one forum, someone was dissing Mexico on the Branson forum.

The Department of State has issued this Travel Alert- Mexico - 1Branson.com

                              Oh yeah, here's a smilie . . . and a hug.
