I have not checked Nevada, but some cancellation periods start at the time you receive your last purchase document, which in some cases is later than the time of signing.

If I remember, I will check, but someone else can, too.

NRS: CHAPTER 119A - TIME SHARES

NRS 119A.410 Right to cancel contract of sale.

      1. The purchaser of a time share may cancel, by written notice, the contract of sale until midnight of the fifth calendar day following the date of execution of the contract. The contract of sale must include a statement of this right.

      2. The right of cancellation may not be waived. Any attempt by the developer to obtain a waiver results in a contract which is voidable by the purchaser.

      3. The notice of cancellation may be delivered personally to the developer or sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the business address of the developer.

      4. The developer shall, within 15 days after receipt of the notice of cancellation, return all payments made by the purchaser.

      (Added to NRS by 1983, 982; A 1985, 1141; 1987, 894; 2003, 984; 2007, 1549)

As usual, color me skeptical.. Seems like someone who feels they were "tricked" into a timeshare would be more than willing to point the finger at the naughty devil-oper!

I think the actual question is how long will we have to wait for the next post?

It wouldn't be the first time we've seen this act.

Although I haven't been on this site for long, I've spent enough time on some others to understand why people are a bit skeptical - and you should not take it personally assuming you're telling the truth which I think you are.

Here's why - about once or twice a week someone starts a thread similar to yours, and mentions that "Timeshare Superheroes" or some other company is great and did this in that. Inevitably it comes out that the person that started the thread is NOT really someone that was given help getting out of a timeshare purchase, but is really an employee of said company (frequently referred to as a "shill") trying to get some free advertising and leads.

To say that the folks here have seen this once or twice before is an understatement, and sadly 9 times out of 10 that's how these threads end up playing out.

I don't have a horse in this race, nor do I have any information that I can share with you, just trying to provide some perspective as to why some may be skeptical of your intentions.

Good luck, hope it all turns out well for you,

                Chris

                  You have one real option...

If you want the benefit of the doubt, I'll give it to you- even though every bit of common sense I have tells me differently.

                  ****

Unfortunately, as it seems you are beyond your cancellation period- you'll have one real option.. Learn how to use and enjoy what you now own (whatever that may be- you still haven't even given a hint...)

Spend time in these forums and you'll soon realize that the majority of timeshare owners make their first purchase from a developer, and pay full price! There is no shame in that. Unfortunately for you- what happened in Vegas didn't stay there.. It came home with you!

Don't get me wrong. Owning a timeshare is in my mind a great opportunity. The resort lifestyle is incredible! Sure- you could have saved money by purchasing resale, but people make bad financial decisions all the time. I recently blew a couple thousand in Vegas myself- and the only thing new I brought home was a lightweight jacket (the wind was biting cold at night!)..

Learn how to get the most from your mystery ownership. Use your home resort or internal exchange if available. Learn to take advantage of the exchange ops posted daily on this site. You may find in a few years that while you didn't make the best financial decision- you made a great lifestyle decision!

                  Good luck...

For sellers reading this thread- there are many various "companies" that promise some type of "timeshare relief".. You'll find many disguised as "advocacy" groups that promise to get your contract canceled without any negative impact on you.. Look hard at these promises.. Please, simply use some common sense!

I saw a recent advice article that mentioned a few such organizations. Malcolm Berko - Want to ditch your timeshare? Don't pay thousands to do so | StarNewsOnline.com

I didn't post the link before simply because the abandonment advice given at the end is not something I agree with IN ANY WAY! Doing so harms every other owner at your resort, and is the ultimate act of selfishness and irresponsibility in my opinion. However, I've decided to post the link here with the hope that perhaps an outside voice giving warning will help convince those visitors that can't seem to take advice from the members of this forum.

i may be a fool again but im not that smart in the first place to do things on my own so i need to pay for someone to help me

he said it will take a while to stop everything i need to write to the resort first and he will help me fight..

if it all goes wrong i will post it in here and if goes well i will post it

i will either be screwed again or glad i did it
you can bash me for this but this is all i can do for now..

I know exactly what you mean...I have a busy life married with 2 kids and 3 dogs...for me time was and is money...some ppl have the time to do mounds of research on how they can help themselves get rid of a timeshare..unfortunately i didnt have the time to do all that so i went with a company just as u did, scary, yes,...but they did get me out of it...lol..good luck!

                        Why encourage this?

I've seen this process before. One newbie brings up the subject- then miraculously another newbie arrives to say "it worked for me too!" Soon there will be a third. After all, it seems so reasonable that people who paid thousands to have someone take their timeshare would still be very interested in joining owner forums just to spread the gospel according to Advocate!

Next- there will be the post intimating that this venue is actually just a super secret plant from the industry itself- with the sole intent of turning people away from these "Advocating Angels", who were placed on this earth by divine providence to fight the evil timeshare salesdevils!

There must be a Bollywood script out there promoting this- cuz the conversation seems to go the same way each and every time.

Exactly. I want to see if there is any legitimacy to this before we run someone off.

Does it look a little scripted ? Yes . Does it remind of other scripts ? Yes, but.................. some of the benefit of the doubt.
