State has settled with seven companies - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

............State officials have settled with at least seven timeshare resale companies for customer refunds. They include:

World Timeshares of Deerfield Beach, $100,000

Vacation Property Trader of Deerfield Beach $8,447.

Timeshare Travels of Boca Raton, $90,000

Preferred Vacation Resorts of Clearwater, $36,000

D&D Vacations, doing business as United States Property Services, of Largo, $26,000

S.F.C. Group, doing business as TWA Resale, of Orlando, $37,000

Virtual Group of Orange County, doing business as Realty Trade, $800,000, plus $500,00 for customers who request refunds in the future.

At least three other companies have been sued, including South Daytona-based ResalesBuyOwner.com and American Marketing Group and Hicks Inc., both based in West Palm Beach. The allegations include forcing customers to pay up-front fees for services that were never provided and that customers' credit cards were charged even after they decided not to do business with the reseller..........................
