Has Anyone Dealt With International Timeshare Network?
Run from ITN. Unfortunately I was not aware of this forum and made the mistake of giving them my money. I should have known the offer was to good to be true. Now I am out of $1600. An expensive lesson, but one well learned. Basically, although they verbally tell you they will sell your timeshare in at most 180 days, if you really read the contract, you will see that they only say they will ADVERTISE the property not sell it. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM!!
We were not aware of this forum either before signing with International Timeshare Network. We notified them of our decision to cancel the contract within the 7 day cancellation policy; however, they were not eager to assist with the refund. They first sent an email stating how wonderful they were and that we should reconsider. They were going to contact us via phone within 48 hours and we did not hear from them. After calling and requesting assistance, we finally received a call back from one of the administrators. He first stated that a refund would be no problem if that was what we wanted; however, he stated that we would regret our decision. We assured him that we definitely wanted to cancel and he became disgruntled and hung up on us without any confirmation. We did call back and was informed that he hung up on us because he felt there was no need to discuss the matter further. I asked about getting a refund and he stated that he had already processed the request and that we would see the transaction on our statement within 48 hours. We never received the credit on our account and contacted our credit card company and filed a dispute. After approximately 2 weeks, we did receive multiple credits to our account. Instead of crediting the full amount, for some reason, they applied 10 separate credits totaling the full amount. We would recommend that you avoid ITN at all costs. It is apparent that they are not a trustworthy nor professional establishment.
I'm relatively new to owning timeshare (bought last summer in Gatlinburg) - We received a call from Katherine at International Timeshare Network about selling our timeshare. I believe they are located near Orlando in Longwood? They told us corporations buy from them all the time, and offered much more than we paid... I was skeptical & searching the web when I found your website. Just wondering if anyone has had good experiences with them? They are charging $1,999 with a guarantee, and say they are members of ARDA. Any advice would be helpful, thank you in advance.
I am a former employee of International Timeshare Network, and let me tell you, I'm all too happy to tell you how they operate and what you should or shouldn't do. I risk sounding like I am just spreading "sour grapes", but that's just the risk I'll take.
I'm going to just copy the following from a post I placed into another forum.
"I don't know that I'd go so far as to say that they are a SCAM, but in my mind, they are, and let me explain why.
If you get into a conversation with them, they will tell you that they show your property at the Orange County Convention Center. The reason I quit is because I discovered that they actually don't. At times, they have a kiosk there, but not very often, and they aren't marketing your property at all. They just have a computer there with your property, and everyone else's listed...right from their website.
They try to tell you that they aren't a listing company, but that is indeed all they are. LISTING COMPANIES DO NOT WORK! They don't sell your property because nobody knows how to find it. If someone DOES find it, it's competing against every other property that is listed. Did you buy your timeshare this way? No! And I promise you, you won't sell it that way, either.
If, for some reason, you think that listing your property online is the way to go...fine. Do it through Ebay, Redweek, and Craigslist. If you use all three, you won't even spend $50. Why pay this company or any other one $500-$3000 to do the same thing?
Oh, and by the way...if you DID get scammed by this company or any other, this is how you get out of it. CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. Don't call the scamming company. If you cancel it with your credit card within 60 days, you'll be just fine. If it's been more than 60 days, you may still have a chance....CALL THEM...NOT THE COMPANY THAT TOOK YOUR MONEY! Also, call the Attorney General in the state of Florida. These companies do not want the bad press and if you involve the Attorney General, they are way more likely to refund your money. But, you only really need to do that if you are beyond the 60 day mark."
Take that as you will, but trust me, this is VERY SAGE ADVICE!
Well here its another sad story, for those of you thinking about giving money to International Times Share Network, DON'T... I gave them $800.00 back in February 2011 and it has been a year and well you guess it, no results. I have been emailing them for the past 9 months everyday and they answer its NO OFFERS YET... I did complain to BBB and to my surprised, BBB said that this so call company has been doing what they are supposed to be doing, but when I was first contacted by this entity, they assured me that they were going to SELL not advertise but SELL the timeshare in no more that 45 days.
PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD...

That probably means they are keeping up with their BBB dues payments.

No. They don't pay for their dues payments. I don't think the BBB will even allow them to.
It's all in what they have in their written contract. Their contract spells it out for you. But what they TELL you is different than what's on that contract, and they get pretty slick in getting you to sign up before you even read that contract.
Buyer beware. They are scammers.
And the owners of one of the satellites of that company, are getting ready to branch out into their own business, doing the same thing. If you are a mod, tell me if it's OK that I post their names on this board, please.
You certainly can post the name of any company and call them scammers. However, keep in mind that we do not delete posts and you are liable for what you say

Well I just filed a complaint to the Attorney General in Florida and they told me that this company has several complains against them.
So, if you have been scammed by this company, I suggest you call them too, hopefully we can shut them down, so they wont do this to anybody else.

I'm not surprised. Did the attorney general mention that she might be starting to investigate them, or was she just trying to appease you?
