There are only a few co. that have your info.. hopefully your company did not give away your info.. I know the lead Dogs in the entire industry guard your personal info very well. If you are getting calls I can tell you how to make it stop now!!

I think it's possible without being rude to the people earning minimum wage to make the calls.

I would be more concerned about them selling information.

Selling lists is a business as old as the magazine subscription. I'm not saying it's right. I just got an automated call (the worst kind, imo) from Norwegian Cruise Lines. I was offered an option to "press 2" to be removed from the list.

Most people don't read Privacy Policies and consent to having their info shared without being aware of it. The "Do Not Call" list statutes have exceptions for companies with whom you've done business (and possibly affiliates, I'm not sure), as well as not-for-profits. I did book a trip for my Dad on Norwegian some time back and gave them my number for contact.

I find that a courteous "not interested and please remove me from this list" is generally effective with the timeshare people. It takes some time, but I get far fewer calls of this nature than I used to. Even better - "I'm sorry but this is a ["doctor's emergency line" or "therapist's office," or "private business line" or whatever else you care to try] I cannot accept calls on this line." Works every time, regardless of the nature of the call.
