  • Timeshare Adventures Inc. Scam?

So I get a call from a guy at Timeshare Adventures...same song and dance. willing to sell my timeshare...two levels of service-
Platinum which is $795 and I wont have to pay closing costs when it sells
Gold which is $595 and I have to pay mostlikely half of the closing costs when it sells.

the asking for $ up front is my tip off that this is bogus...just want to know if anyone has heard of this group.

      Timeshare Adventures Inc.

I did endless research before using a company to advertise my timeshare. If anyone else has done the same... this conclusion should have been reached. There are 100's of companies out there offering to "sell your timeshare" for an upfront fee. 99% of those companies are telemarketing firms, those are the ones to stay away from, they buy a list of owners names from somewhere and spend all day contacting them saying they either have a buyer already, or it will sell for more than what was paid (lies). I have been contacted endless times from telemarketing companies like that... very persistant and they get rude if you don't want to use them. I found that no one can take any commission on a timeshare unless a broker is involved. Brokers don't sell timeshares, they sell homes because they are a tangilbe asset and there is room for a commission and you're going to deal with high dollar homes instead of 10k-20k timeshares. Makes sense. Timeshare Adventures is not a telemarketing company, they have a for rent/sale by owner concept... an advertising company. They have not yet been successful for me, however... their communication and correspondences couldn't be any better. I also found out that they are the only company in that industry that has a legal department staffed with a real estate attorney and does not charge closing costs to buyers or the sellers... unique to only their company. Charging an upfront fee for advertising is not a new concept, I paid the Auto Trader over $100 in advance to advertise my boat that I needed to part with (damn economy). I hope this information is helpful!

Once they have your $795 or $595 they have no incentive to actually sell your timeshare. They are most likely a scam and as a first time poster you are most likely a SHILL. I have no doubt that your next post would have been detailing how they sold your timeshare and everything turned out great. The story has been played out over and over.

          Hi Everybody,
I am new in this forum, and I am probably just another timeshare owner trying to find out, if there is any way to sell my timeshare.

I actually also came across Timeshare Adventures, and they said my timeshare was listed for 36,000 $, almost the double amount of its original price. I don't have any illusion that it will sell for that amount, but more importantly will it sell at any price at all ?

Has anybody actually ever sold a timeshare property through one of these companies or in any other way? I don't wanna find out by paying the 990$ they are asking upfront.

There is another company I came across which is "buyatimeshare.com". Does anybody has ever sold a timeshare with these guys ? After asking me how much I had paid for my timeshare, they said I could achieve 29,000$. They asked for 600$ upfront and said it would sell within 3-9months.

I appreciate anybody's comments or experience.

Very little. No matter where it is, what it is - very little. Getting someone to take ownership & the obligation for the fees is considered a successful sale today. Thats why paying $500+ in upfront fees is guaranteed to be money lost. They have no incentive to actually sell your timeshare once they have your upfront money & the listing is worthless on a web site no one is ever likely to see/visit.

No. You would be giving away your $990. Better to use it to market the week yourself & pay the closing for the buyer with what you save.

Scam. Why would anyone go through them & pay those type of high prices when you know (and so do buyers) there are hundreds of units for $1000 or far less - free in many cases. It is a scam to get your $600.

NO UPFRONT FEES. Period. They are all ripoffs.
