The suits allege the companies — Timeshares Direct Inc., doing business as Timeshares By Owner, in Orlando, Gold Crown Property Management Inc., in Clearwater and International Marketing and Finance Group, Inc., in Palm Beach — falsely promised timeshare owners that they had buyers lined up for their properties.

It's bad enough that people get caught up in a TS they can't afford or don't really want. These people really have greedy hands to take advantage of people who don't know what they are doing. Happy TS owners really would do others a favor and spread the word about the need to get some education on various TS offerings before making any purchase, even resale. These resellers bring the whole TS industry to a new low.

Yesterday I received a call asking about our Wyndam property and what we were planning on doing with it. I told them I would like to sell, but DH is against it. He told me that he was calling from Timeshare by Owners...had I heard of them. I said yes, and he started his speech. One of the first things he told me was "by law we are required to get an up front fee". I answered with "no no no no" NO upfront fees ever. We had tried that years ago and got nothing for our money. He wanted to know where I had heard no upfront fees and I told him Timeshare Users Group and Timeshare Forums. Then I told him no thanks and hung up.
"BY LAW"??????? What law? Theirs? Glad to see Florida is going after them.
