  • Holiday INN Vacation Club RIPOFF

I was switched to Holiday INN without any option.....I learned I can no longer make reservations for one night? I learned fees for reservations 10-13 months went from $0 to $49...I learned reservations without fees require minimum 7 night ....I cannot check the Holiday Inn website for availability or points on Holiday Inn website for internal reservations but have to go to RCI . I tried to send message on the website twice but got server error. I am so disappointed with the changes...you have taken what was very user frriendly program and ruined it. I would apprecaite a response....Clearly others feel as I do and need to get the message out

Welcome to the wonderful world of timesharing, where enhancement takes on a whole new meaning.

Are you an Orange Lake owner?

        Sorry for your dis-satisfaction.

For reasons beyond you I feel a little chuckle coming on.

As an owner things should not have changed for you due to the ridiculous name change they did at Orange Lake (a change that IMO downgraded a rather prestigious name in timeshare to a budget level, not very highly regarded generic name that degraded the property). Maybe its a new web site but what you can do and what you have access to should not have changed. It makes no sense especially if you didn't sign up for anything new like the grossly overpriced points or internal club system. Keep us posted what you end up doing/finding out.

What, Holiday Inn not upscale? I wonder what what's-her-name OY has to say about it?

It's a hoot (not my normal word) that properties that were marketed as anti-hotel/motel have taken on the names of hotels and motels.

            Holiday Inn. Marriot. Hilton.

I wonder what the Motel 6 timeshares will be like?

Sorry for my ignorance but what is "OY"? I've seen this around the forums and haven't been able to figure it out.

That's the limit of my help on the matter.

There is a nother popular bulletin board for timeshare users. A google search would likely turn it up.

Over yonder is the Timeshare Users Group or TUG for short.

And if you go over yonder, you'll see that here is over yonder over there - LOL!!

Not new at all. "Enhancement" has been corporate-speak for screwing the custmers for quite some time. Ask any member of an airline ff program, where they have come to dread the word.

Wasn't Orange Lake started by a former Holiday Inn executive (kemmons Wilson ?) that is long dead ? Seems like the resort and developer have been on a downhill slide since I first toured it in the late 80's/early 90's.

Yeah, I remember seeing you there in June, '89. You were buying a studio in the clubhouse. You had a glazed and amazed look on your face.

According to little miss know it all OY, the Wilsons are not influential, but son-of-Kemmons is involved. Click on Key Industries, then Resort Timesharing:

                            Kemmons Wilson Companies

Whattajoke, it winding it being Holiday Inn.

Are not other hotel operations getting out of timeshare, or trying to?
