  • Revocation Form sent (For Grandview @ Las Vegas, NV.) - anything else?

Hi everyone - we just return from our Vegas trip and found ourselves with a timeshare contact. After reading some comments in this forum, I'm embarrassed for paying all that money to the developer.

We brought the timeshare @ Grandview for $15K for 49,000 points for 1 bed room with 2 extra weeks per year. My wife and I "thought" it was a great deal. After reading this forum, we knew we didn't make the best decision.

The next day, we sent the revocation form back to the address listed (3015 n ocean blvd #121 ft. lauderdale, fl 33308) W/ certified mail. That's all the contract stated if we decided to revoke the timeshare.

After making such a bad decision in a purchase, I'm still a little worry (actually a lot ). That's it? I don't need to do anything else? How do I know we are out of the contact?

Thanks for your help... i really need it

Did you follow exactly how to rescind per what was in your contract? If not, you need to do that immediately.

Thanks for your reply riverdees05. The contact stated sent the revocation form back to the address provided w/ certified mail. That's it. I don't know why I am still worry. I think I still don't believe we purchase something for $15K that is basically worth $1 on ebay....

Don't kick yourself, a lot of us purchased our first timeshare from the developer before we learned better. Did you use the return card option to have verification that they received your letter?

Yes i did. I used USPS first class mail w/Certified Mail and Return Receipt.

But how would I know if my contact is revoked or not? We didn't pay any down payment (we just pay the closing cost - around $300).

My husband and I did the very same thing last February. After I recieved my postcard back from USPS I called the number for the (I think) Eldorado Corp and they assured me they received it and I would get a refund in a few days.

No pressure from them at all, which I was very suprised about. We got our refund and now own some Wyndham points after researching her and on TUG. Bought off of E-bay for 1.00.

Read, research, and learn before buying anything else. Goodluck.

Legally they don’t have a leg to stand on, if you followed the instructions and have proof, you have not given them enough money for them to chase you for anything. They will whip that timeshare out of your hands in seconds if you miss a payment. However i would record all calls, you are likly not get anything back in writing from the.

However as long as you followed the info then there’s no reason to receive any maintenance bill.

Generally you have a mortgage with someone, then maintenance to them. I did the same thing at the same resort, however i paid cash (nightmare, fraud squad was called), however i now no longer own it, about 17k out of pocket, but no maintenance either.

And no one would buy this off me, no matter what anyone said about "never paying to gid rid of it" you WILL have to, i couldn’t even give it away, i managed to spend $800 (donation which i can claim tax back from the government) and was taken by a legal charity.

What annoyed me was I had a case against them, according to NV law, however no lawyer in NV would take it, not even the state attorney or general.

Basics, your money, don’t buy it unless you want it.
